The cut is the part you can see from the doorway.
Where the wall meets the trim. It cannot be hidden, touched up fast, or photographed around. Stand in the doorway and look along it, not at it. A clean cut is straight and the two colours stop exactly where they should.

The specialty
Cabinet finishing is the work I specialize in.
A kitchen is the hardest surface in a house to finish well, and most of a cabinet painting job is not painting.
- 01
Doors off
Every door and drawer front comes off and gets labelled. Hardware comes off and gets bagged.
- 02
Degrease
Kitchen cabinets carry years of cooking grease, and nothing sticks to grease.
- 03
Sand and prime
Primer chosen for what is underneath. The wrong one peels.
- 04
Spray
Usually sprayed, not brushed, so the colour lays down as one even film.
- 05
Cure
Dry in an hour, hardening for days. Loading them early is how a good finish gets marked.
Painting Company in Milwaukee
Serving the Milwaukee area
TrueFinish Painting LLC is a Milwaukee painting company for houses and businesses, registered in Wisconsin in May 2026 and carrying 4.9 stars from 11 reviews on Google. The work is interior painting, exterior painting, doors, spray finishing, drywall repair, and the thing I specialize in, cabinet finishing.
Milwaukee is an old house town. Close to half the occupied homes in the city went up before 1940, which means plaster walls, deep painted trim carrying decades of old enamel, and wood porches that take the full weather off the lake. A paint job here is mostly preparation, and the quick version never lasts.
What to Expect When You Work With Me
- A free estimate, in person. Painting is priced off surfaces and prep, not square footage, so it starts with a look at the work.
- Preparation before paint. Drop cloths down, trim and glass masked, hardware off, patching and sanding done. That is where neat and clean comes from.
- The cut. The line where the wall meets the trim is the part you can see from the doorway, and it is the part that gets judged.
- Cabinets done the long way. Doors off and labelled, degreased, primed for the surface, sprayed, and left to cure.
- Old houses, handled like old houses. If your home was built before 1978, federal rules require lead safe certified work when old paint is disturbed. Ask any painter you call for their certification. [LEAD SAFE CERTIFICATION: Shane, if you hold it, the number goes here.]

Common questions
Questions People Ask
Do you paint kitchen cabinets?
Yes. Cabinet finishing is my specialty, and cabinet painting is one of the services on my Google profile. Most kitchens mean the doors and drawer fronts come off, the hardware comes off, and every surface gets cleaned and sanded before any finish goes on. Ask me what your kitchen would involve.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. Estimates are free. Call (262) 909-2216 and tell me what needs painting: roughly how many rooms, or which sides of the house, whether ceilings and trim are part of it, and whether the walls are plaster or drywall. Those are the things a painter asks about first.
My house was built before 1978. Does that change a paint job?
It can. Federal rules require a lead safe certified firm for work that disturbs paint in housing built before 1978, which covers most of the housing stock in Milwaukee. Ask any painter you are considering to show you their certification, and ask how they plan to contain the dust.
When can the outside of a house be painted in Wisconsin?
Roughly May through October. Most exterior paints want the surface, the air and the overnight low above about 50 degrees, and they want the surface dry, so a wet spring and the first cold nights close the window at both ends. Check the label on whatever is going on your house.
What areas do you cover?
The Milwaukee area. There is no storefront to visit, because the work happens at your house. The exact towns are still being confirmed for this page, so call (262) 909-2216 with your address and I will tell you whether it is a drive I make.
